BitTorrent Tracker: Down for the Count
For a while, I have wanted to have RopeFashions tutorials available via BitTorrent. There are a couple of reasons for this. The first, of course, is to make it easier for people to download the tutorials. But I also wanted to demonstrate a use for BitTorrent that didn't involve sharing pirated software or music. BitTorrent has gotten a really bad name because of its use for illegal activities. Linux distributions are available via BitTorrent, a legal and good use of the technology, and I wanted to demonstrate another one.
I had the BitTorrent downloads working, but then my hosting site started blocking BitTorrent. I changed hosting sites, and then my ISP started blocking BitTorrent, so I couldn't seed the torrents.
So I'm giving up on this project. I have removed the BitTorrent icons from all the tutorial download entries. Maybe I'll give it another try sometime in the future, but not for a while.
RopeFashions PDF downloads
You may have trouble for a little while downloading the PDF tutorial handouts. I inadvertently let the domain that hosts the RopeFashions downloads expire. It has been renewed, but it may take a couple hours for it to get back online. If you have difficulty, please try again in a bit.
Also, the BitTorrent downloads are still offline, but I am working on getting the new Tracker back up soon.

This week we upgraded Rope Fashions to the latest versions of the website software. The upgrade turned out kind of messy, and we were off the air for a couple of days.
We are back on the air. There are a few loose ends and the BitTorrent tracker is still down. They should be fixed shortly.

New shibari books, and our 1000th member
This has got to be the year for shibari books. Three new ones have come out so far this year.
Chanta Rose, the rigger and bondage model who used to work at hogtied.com, has come out with a beautifully-illustrated book, Bondage For Sex, that shows sexy rope bondages that do not get in the way of sex and, in fact, enhance it. The illustrations are of professional bondage models, photographed by Ian Rath from Fetish Nation. The book reminds me of the sewing books Singer used to publish, with step-by-step instructions, each one illustrated with a gorgeous photo.
By the way, we went to one of Chanta Rose's classes at Fetishcon last week in Tampa. It was excellent.
Bridgett Harrington, a well-known bondage artist and educator, has a new book, Shibari You Can Use: Japanese Rope Bondage and Erotic Macrame, that contains all sorts of decorative and practical bondages, including Shinju (Chest Harnesses), Gyakuebi (Asian Style Hogtie), Ebi or Kuri (Shrimp or Ball Ties), Rope Corsets, Strap-on Harnesses, and Crotch Ropes. There are step-by-step instructions, with illustrations using real people with various body types.
Van Darkholme, a rigger, photographer, and model, has a new book, Male Bondage, that contains beautifully-photographed images of buff men in rope bondage. Van has previously produced several videos, including White Rope, Black Rope, Raw Rope, and Bondo Gods. This is his first book. I can hardly wait for his second one.

This month (August 2006), Rope Fashions got it's 1000th member. In the past, joining Rope Fashions hasn't conferred many benefits, other than letting me know that you are intersted, but that will be changing shortly. I am starting to do mailings to the members whenever major additions are made to the site. Also, the Showcase gallery will soon be members only. This will allow us to have some tasteful, artistic nude bondage in the Showcase gallery. (Don't worry, we're not going all hard core on you or anything like that.)
This month we updated the version of the Coppermine photo gallery software that we use. As part of the upgrade, we made the thumbnails images larger. I hope your eyes appreciate this as much as mine do.

RopeFashions handouts available via BitTorrent!
BitTorrent users can now download RopeFashions handouts via BitTorrent. On the Downloads page, there is now a 
button at the end of each description, with a link to the torrent file for the handout. Click on the button and save thetorrent file, then open it in your BitTorrent client. Or, if you have a browser like Opera, with built-in BitTorrent support, just click on the button, and it will download the PDF it via BitTorrent.

As you will see from the following pages, my Mistress enjoys the wonderful feel of rope bondage when she bottoms to me in our demos. But do not even consider thinking of her as a submissive; she does not have a submissive bone in her body.
